Self Directed Project

I have started my Self Directed Project and have a number of ideas. I would like to focus on portraiture and have thought about continuing an A level project about my transition through childhood and carrying that on into university life.

I am also toying around with the idea of preconceptions and first impressions and how people may "judge a book by its cover". I have thought about maybe creating portraits of people in the way I first saw them or how I felt about them having first met them.

On the flip-side of this I have considered the idea of creating some self portraits based around people's preconceptions or first impressions of me. To carry this through I need people's opinions on me, so I'm planning on putting questionnaires through a number of doors at my halls of residence. This is my questionnaire. If you would like to fill it in there that would be a great help to me as the more information I get back the better I can build up this preconceptual or "fictional" self portrait.

I have photographed some of my recent installation work I did for a uni project with the brief of using two square metres.

My first blog.
I've decided to become a part of this web phenomenon in order to promote my work, network and also to simply keep myself an online journal and place to organise my thoughts.

About me.
I'm Tim Hodge (29/09/1989)! Hi.
I'm studying BA Fine Art at Southampton University: Winchester School of Art and I'm in my first year.

I will be updating this blog with various examples of work from my studio based modules and also my analogue and digital practise (ADP) module. As a result there will be a fair few mashed together, experimental photoshop pieces. But hopefully that will all be over soon!

I hope I will persevere and keep this updated and keep a focus to it, I have a bad feeling I will start ranting about football results and the price of a weekly shop at Tesco.
